Dewey Thomas Sherwood

  Funeral services for Dewey Thomas Sherwood, 87, of Converse,
were held Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1996, at 1 p.m., at Fellowship
Baptist Church. Interment was at Oak Grove Cemetery, under the
direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield.

  Mr. Sherwood passed away Monday, Oct. 14, in Mansfield. He was
born in Converse, and retired from Texaco, Inc. He was a farmer,
a member, and Deacon of Fellowship Baptist Church.

  He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Sherwood; and
daughter, Billie Singletary.

  Mr. Sherwood is survived by one son, Don Sherwood of Houston,
Tex.; daughter, Alice Anderson of Orangefield; sister, Maggie Lee
Kube of Port Arthur, Tex.; five grandchildren; and 11 great
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were Tim Singletary, Pat Singletary, Ronnie Weeks,
Kyle Fontenot, and Johnny Massey.

  Honorary pallbearers were Mr. Floyd Beason, Mr. Arlon Skinner,
Mr. Will Burkett, Mr. Casey Jones, Degan Singletary, Gareth
Singletary, Joshua Fontenot, David Weeks, Stephen Singletary, and
Matthew Singletary.

  Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, or Oak Grove
Cemetery Fund.
