She accepted Christ as her personal savior. She graduated from Sabine High in Many, Class of 1968. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 17, at Bethel Baptist Church in Many. Ms. Surratt was married to Sgt. Allen Surratt of Iron Station, N. C. She traveled extensively overseas with her husband. To this union, no children were born. Survivors include her mother, Goldie Parson; sisters, Jacqueline, Toninette, LaTonya, and Tara of Many, Rhonda Van Buren (Michael) of Jonesboro, Evelyn and Brenda Lee of Houston, Texas, Jo Ann Veiga of Omaha, Neb.; brothers, Jerome Parson, and special sister-in-law, Linda of Many, Ricky Parson (Veronica) of Dale City, Va., Bennie Parson (Rena) of Houston, Texas; aunts, Evelyn L. Bush (Arthur) of Many, Ellen Ruth Jones (LeRoy) of Oklahoma City, Okla., Vesta Lee Rivers of Los Angeles, Calif.; uncles, Robert Parson, (Ruby) of Compton, Calif., Donald L. Newton of Houston, Texas; 25 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and close friends. Ms. Surratt was preceded in death by her father, Leon Parson; and brother, Steven Parson.
