SoRelle 8 Aug 1947 - Funeral rites for Judge Don E. SoRelle, age 90 years, were held 4 p.m. Tuesday from Many First Baptist church. Rev. Dr. Kyle M. Yates officiated. Interment was in Many cemetery under direction Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were: W. E. Brogan, Jr., Andrew SoRelle, Henry M. SoRelle, Jr., Dr. Milton Talbot, Jr., G. M. Garton, E. C. Dillon. Surviving are son: A. C. SoRelle, Houston, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. O. O. Cleveland, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. W. E. Brogan, New Orleans, and Mrs. W. M. Talbot, Leesville; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Judge SoRelle was well known in Sabine, having served in the state legislature, also in the Eleventh Judicial district. He resided in Many where he practiced law until 1929, then moving to Houton, Texas, retiring from law practice. He was also a newspaper man, having operated The Sabine Banner at one time; a churchman, having served as moderator of the Baptist association a number of ties. He was a conscientious worker for an ideal educational system for Sabine parish. He also served as mayor of Many. Judge SoRelle passed away at the home of his son, Andrew, at Houston, Texas 10:30 a.m. Monday.
