Sirmon 6 Jan 1939 - Last rites for Mrs. D. R. Sirmon, who passed away at 2:30 a.m., January 3rd, were held Wednesday, January 4, at 2 p.m. at Prospect, near Florien. Funeral was directed by Dennis-Green funeral home, with Rev. J. B. Williams officiating and Rev. Baggett and Rev. H. T. Isgitt assisting. Mrs. Sirmon was for several years a teacher in Sabine parish, having taught at Mt. Carmel for several years. The past year the Sirmon family moved to Converse where she and husband were engaged in teaching. Mrs. Sirmon was well known and loved by all. She is survived by her husband, D. R. Sirmon; three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Mable Sirmon Givens, Helen and Eloise, Stanley and Winston; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Simmons of Benton, and six brothers, J. H., Jr., Sheppard, David, D. B., Billie and S. W., all of Benton.
