The Sabine Index - D. R. Sirmon

  25 Feb 1955 - D. R. Sirmon, 66, of Summer Grove, died Tuesday
morning, Feb. 22, at 10:30 at Oak Grove.

  Mr. Sirmon, a retired teacher, taught in Sabine parish for
many years, being a former principal at Mt. Carmel, Converse and
Oak Grove.

  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. D. R. Sirmon of Summer Grove;
three daughters, Mrs. J. W. Givens of Shreveport, Mrs. William
Dean Sistrunk of Beaumont, Texas, and Mrs. Elsie Hood of Goffs
Town, N. H.; two sons, Stanley Sirmon and Winston Sirmon of
Shreveport.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the
Summer Grove Methodist Church.

  Interment was in the Prospect cemetery near Florien under
the direction of Warren Funeral Home of Many.
