Campbell 26 Sep 1947 - Funeral rites for John F. Campbell, age 86, were conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Belmont Baptist church with Rev. Reeves officiating. Interment was under direction Blanchard funeral home. Surviving relatives are: wife, Mrs. John F. Campbell, Belmont; sons, L. L., Zwolle, J. W., E. E. and H. E., Belmont; daughters, Mrs. M. H. Howard and Mrs. C. L. Howard, both of Belmont; brother, M. L. All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Riley Stoker 5 Sep 1947 - Riley Stoker died suddenly of heart attack 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at his home near Fort Jesup. His wife, a granddaughter and Jess Higgins were present when the end came. Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Leatha Jones Stoker and nine children, four daughters and five sons, namely, Mrs. J. T. Pilgrim, Robeline, Mrs. H. M. Burnham, Pearl River; Mrs. C. B. Davis, Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Floyd Findlay, Shreveport. H. A. Stoker, Mansfield; C. H. Stoker, Haynesville; Dr. Roland R. Stoker, Charlotte, N. C.; C. B. and L. B. Stoker, Shreveport; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Uncle Riley, as he was known throughout Sabine parish, where he has resided since birth, was born June 27, 1868. He married Miss Mammie Winn in 1890. After her death in 1899 he married Miss Leatha Jones. Funeral services were held at Fort Jesup Baptist church with Rev. Oliver Roberts officiating. "Does Jesus Care" and "Rock of Ages" were beautifully sung by the church choir, Mrs. Edna Stoker, director. Mr. Stoker was laid to rest beside his first wife in the family plot in Fort Jesup cemetery to await the resurrection. The following nephews acted as pallbearers: Robert Stoker, Morris Stoker, C. C. Stoker, R. J. Stoker, Ross Stoker and C. B. Funeral services were conducted 10 a.m. Sunday at Fort Jesup Baptist church by Rev. M. B. Atkins with interment in Fort Jesup cemetery under direction Massingill funeral home. Surviving relatives are: parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Tabor, Magnolia, Ark.; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Tabor, Many, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bryant, Logansport.
