Acklin, age 70 years, a retired carpenter and painter, who resided in Homer for many years and a former resident of Many and Belmont succumbed to a long illness at the family home, Sunday at 2 a.m., Sept. 2. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Kerlin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. V. R. Blizzard officiating, assisted by the Rev. T. W. Barnes of Minden. Burial followed in Converse cemetery. Conducting the services were Rev. Jerry Schmucker, Shreveport and Rev. Ben F. Worley, pastor of Converse Baptist church. Survivors include three sons and four daughters. Mr. David was born in Syria on March 25, 1883. He went to Newberry, Mich. in 1923, where he was in business for three years.
