Y. arrived by plane at Lake Charles Sept. 5. Mrs. Brink was accompanied by her two daughters, Ethel and Grace. They were met at the airport by Mrs. Brink's brother, Henry Veuleman of Many. Mrs. Brink's husband was accidently killed in an automobile collision in New York on Aug. 14. She and daught3ers are at present with her mother, Mrs. Wilson Veuleman of Robeline. Mrs. Brink is the former Miss Sylvia Veuleman and since her marriage has resided in New York. ********************************************************************* Obituaries: John S. Carroll 10 Sep 1948 - Funeral rites for John S. Carroll, age 89 years, were held 10 o'clock Tuesday from Zion Hill Baptist church, Rev. Seals, pastor, officiated. Interment was in Zion Hill cemetery under direction Massingill funeral home. Members of the Masonic order had charge of ceremonies at the grave. Pallbearers were: Calvin Carrol, Harris Williams, Howard Wiliams, Kermit Carroll, Neville Carroll and James Carroll. Surviving are: children, Cade Carroll, Sulphur, C. D. Carroll, Many, D. W. Carroll, Florien, W. P. Carroll, Elton, Mrs. Epsie Smith, Bastrop, Mrs. Delma Johnson, Florien, Mrs. Emma Williams, Many; 32 grandchildren and 48 great grandchildren. Mr. Carroll died suddenly Sunday at his home near Many, was born June 15, 1859 at Negreet, son of John and Elizabeth Carroll. His father came to Louisiana from South Carolina. His mother was born at Negreet. Mr. Carroll was prominent in public affairs during the active of his life, once serving as representative in the state legislature from Sabine parish. Roy Davis whose next of kin is James M. Davis, Florien, were dispatched from Memphis general depot Tuesday, Lt. Col. Dan L. Miller, chief of the Memphis general depot's American Graves Registration, has informed the Index. Escorted by an individual military escort, they were to have been delivered to Massingill funeral home, Many. Estimated time of arrival at Florien was 4:14 p.m. Wednesday. T/Sgt. Davis, who served with the U. Interment was under direction of Massingill funeral home. Surviving relatives include: parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Wooley, brother, Bobby Wayne, and sister, Paulette, all of Many; brother, J. M. Wooley, Jr., Dallas, Texas; grandmother, Mrs. Wooley Many. Miss Wooley had been employed three years by Great Southern Life Insurance company of Houston, Texas.
