Preston Percy Tibbett - June 30, 1988 Funeral services for the Rev. Preston Percy Tibbett, 67, of Natchitoches were held Sunday, June 26, at 4 p.m. in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church near Robeline. Dr. Arnold Nelson, the Rev. Ray Penfield, and Eugene Williams officiated. Full military graveside rites were conducted in the church cemetery. Services were under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Rev. Tibbett died at 6:28 p.m. Friday, June 24, 1988, in Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a retired Baptist minister, having pastored a host of area Baptist churches. He was also a retired U. S. Air Force Chief Warrant Officer, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife Lucille V. Tibbett of Natchitoches; two sons, Kenny Tibbett and his wife Ann of Many; Mike Tibbett of Tioga; one daughter, Barbara Mahfouz of Natchitoches; one sister, Velda Forshee of Winnsboro, Texas; two brothers, Kenneth Tibbett of Abilene, Texas, T. B. Tibbett of Shreveport; and four grandchildren, Ken Tibbett, Justin Tibbett, Jason Tibbett, and Ashley Tibbett. Pallbearers were Ray Lovelady, James Hendrickson, Sonny Farrar, Jim Penfield, Jerry Penfield, Jack Womack, Buddy Slater and Larry Wade.
