Lavern V. Tipton

  Services for Lavern V. Tipton, 66, were held at 1 p.m.,
Wednesday, December 9, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel.
Officiating were Rev. Harold Shelton, pastor of Mooringsport
Baptist Church. Burial was held in Centuries Memorial Park.

  Mrs. Tipton died Monday, December 7, at Willis-Knighton Medical
Center, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Florien, and has
resided in Mooringsport for 45 years. Mrs. Tipton was a
beautician, a member of Mooringsport Baptist Church, and the
Order of the Eastern Star.

  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis L. Tipton.

  Survivors include her son, Charles R. Tipton, Mooringsport, La.;
four brothers, Ivy Lee Vines, and Ralph Vines, both of Many,
Robert Vines of Lake Charles, and Ferman Vines; five grandsons,
and numerous nieces and nephews.
