Tabor, age 71, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 25 at Prothro hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was apparently in good health prior to this time. Mr. Tabor was a loved and respected citizen, a friend to everyone. When a young man he united with Bayou Scie Methodist church where he served for many years as a steward. Shortly before suffering the fatal attack, he told his family he felt life his life here was about over, and he was ready to meet his Lord. He will be missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Durman Tabor, one son, W. L. Tabor, Many; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Davis, Belmont; Mrs. Erma Davis, Many; Mrs. Irene Chandler, Houston, Texas; fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Tabor, Many; Lee Tabor, Anacoco; John Tabor, Converse. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at Bayou Scie Methodist church with Rev. James Lawton, pastor in charge, assisted by Rev. O. S. Roberts and Rev. Willis Greer. Pallbearers were Willie Champion, D. M. Magee, O. V. Webb, Sr., Ray Salley. Burial in the Bayou Scie cemetery with the Warren Funeral Home in charge.
