Tabor, 87, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, in Anacoco. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., May 24, at Freedom Rest Baptist Church, with interment following at Beech Grove Cemetery in Anacoco. The Rev. Jack Lewellyn, the Rev. Dan McGee, and the Rev. James Byrd officiated. Mr. Tabor was a native of Sabine Parish, but lived in Houston, Texas and Vernon Parish most of his life. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the U. S. army. He retired from Houston Belton Railroad, after working 28 years. He was a member of Orange Masonic Lodge No. 317 in Anacoco, Freedom Rest Baptist Church, and was a charter member of Toledo Baptist Church of Texas. Survivors include his widow, Marguriette Tabor of Anacoco; two sons, Homer Tabor of Lampassas, Texas, and Norman Tabor of Anacoco; two sisters, Bobbie Lea Churchill of Channelview, Texas, and Velda Huffman of Anacoco; three grandchildren; five step grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and 11 step great grandchildren Labby Memorial Funeral Home, Leesville, La.
