Tooke Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 25, for James Arthur Tooke, 76, who passed away Friday, Jan. 22, after an extended illness. The services were held in the Bayou Scie Methodist Church, with the Rev. George Sherman officiating. The Rev. Walter Ledford, and Dr. R. P. Butler assisted. Interment was in the Bayou Scie Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Pallbearers were W. M. Russell, J. M. Adair, Bill Hopkins, Ray Salley, Willis Tabor, Milton Mancil, Ellis Davis, and J. O. Kimbrell Jr. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Tooke of Zwolle; four sons, Duhart Tooke of Portland, Ore., Alvin Tooke of Raceland, Parrott Tooke of Lafayette, and Cecil Tooke of Zwolle; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Welker of Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Bobbie Boudreaux of Crowley; three sisters, Mrs. Bascon Doyle, and Mrs. Clint McClanahan of Shreveport, and Mrs. Annie Sue Brackin of Minden; and seven grandchildren.
