Mrs. Mora Thaxton

  Mrs. Mora Thaxton, 82, of Florien, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, after a short
illness.

  Funeral services will be held today in the Centrea Nazarene Church at 2
p.m., with the Rev. Virgil Taylor, and the Rev. Earl Marr officiating.
Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of the
Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Survivors are four sons; Troy, Leon, Evon, and Tommy Thaxton of Florien;
six daughters, Mrs. Ruby Alford of Hornbeck, Mrs. Velma Weldon of Mt. Carmel,
Mrs. Marlene Hardin of Houston, Mrs. Kathleen Hardy, Mrs. Syble Davis, and
Mrs. Etoy Ellsel, all of Beaumont; four brothers, Cleveland, Clarence, and
Claud Steward of Florien, and Rollie Stewart of Robeline; 49 grandchildren,
76 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

  Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
