The Sabine Index - Mrs. Barto Thaxton 
  
  10 May 1939 - Last rites for Mrs. Barto Thaxton were held at Mt. 
Carmel 1 p.m. last Friday, interment in the Mt. Carmel cemetery, 
Rev. J. H. Ricks and Rev. Kennedy officiating. Funeral directed 
by the Dennis-Green funeral home of Many. 
  
  Surviving are the husband, Barto Thaxton, and seven children: 
Mrs. Rufus Corley, Mrs. Carnandus W. Davis, Mrs. W. M. Teddell, 
all of Florien; Mrs. Luther Byrd, Kurthwood; Edith of Shreveport; 
Raydon and Don; also her mother, Mrs. A. M. Stewart of Florien, 
six brothers and three sisters. 
  
  Mrs. Thaxton was a life-long resident of the Mt. Carmel 
community.
