Decie Jane Thaxton

  Funeral services for Mrs. Decie Jane Thaxton, 81, were held
Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3:30 p.m., in the Prewitt Chapel Church,
with interment following in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Rev. Edward
Freeman, and Rev. James Hickman officiated the services.

  Mrs. Thaxton passed away on Thursday, Oct. 19, in the Sabine
Medical Center in Many.

  She is survived by six daughters, Geneva Snell of Florien, Lovie
Rond of Plainview, Ruby Rond of Hallsville, Texas, Melva Parker,
and Martha Foote, both of Florien, and Rebecca Hickman of
Plainview; one son, Mackie C. Thaxton of Fisher; two sisters,
Alma McCaniel of Shreveport, and Ollie Chance of Anacoco; two
brothers, Verdie Jones of Shreveport, and Elvin Jones of Bossier
City; 37 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; and a host of
nieces and nephews.

  Mrs. Thaxton was preceded in death by her husband, Troy C.
Thaxton, and two sons, Sammie Ray Thaxton, and Vollie Thaxton.
Pallbearers were Neil Thaxton, Tony Parker, Mike Thaxton, Eddie
Jones, Delane Johnson, Tracy Parker, Gary Pennington, and Dale
Withers, Honorary pallbearers included Sammie Foote, Willie
Hickman, Richard Elliott, Kevin Hickman, and Troy Thaxton.
