Mackey Leon Thaxton

  Funeral services for Mackey Leon Thaxton, 77, were held at 3
p.m., in April 5, 1995, at the Cenchrea Nazarene Church.

  The Rev. Ron Berry, and the Rev. Larry DeLoach officiated.
Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of
Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many.

  Mr. Thaxton passed away on April 3, at the Sabine Medical Center
in Many.

  Survivors are one son, Elbert Thaxton and wife Louise of
Blanchard; three daughters, Carolyn Manasco and husband John,
Linda Benevage and husband Billy, all of Florien, and Katherine
Westfall and husband Lavon of Lumberton, Texas; six sisters, Ruby
Alford, and Velma Weldon, both of Florien, Marleen Hardin of
Houston, and Kathleen Hardy, Sybil Davis, and Etoy Ellzey, all of
Beaumont; two brothers, Evon Thaxton, and Tommy Thaxton, both of
Florien; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and a host
of nieces, and nephews, and friends.

  Mr. Thaxton was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Thaxton.

  Pallbearers were Travis Alford, Gerald Thaxton, Charlie Thaxton,
David Thaxton, Douglas Thaxton, and Kenneth Dale Ellzey.

  Honorary pallbearers were Jeffery Benevage, Keith Manasco,
Timothy McNeely, Eric Thaxton, Rodney Walker, and Keith
Lightfoot.
