Mackey Leon Thaxton

  Funeral services were held for Mackey Leon Thaxton, 77, on April
5, 1995, at 3 p.m., at the Cenchrea Nazarene Church, with
interment following in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the
direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Rev. Ron Berry, and Rev. Larry DeLoach officiated the services.

  Mr. Thaxton passed away on April 3, 1995, at the Sabine Medical
Center in Many, La.

  He is survived by one son, Elbert Thaxton and wife Louise of
Blanchard, La.; three daughters, Carolyn Manasco and husband John
of Florien, Linda Benevage and husband Billy of Florien, and
Katherine Westfall and husband Lavon of Lumberton, Texas; six
sisters, Ruby Alford and Velma Weldon, both of Florien, Marline
Hardine Hardin of Houston, and Kathleen Harday, Sybil Davis, and
Etoy Ellzey, all of Beaumont; two brothers, Evon Thaxton, and
Tommy Thaxton, both of Florien; 11 grandchildren; nine great
grandchildren; and a host of nieces, and nephews, and friends.

  Mr. Thaxton was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Thaxton.

  Pallbearers were Travis Alford, Gerald Thaxton, Charlie Thaxton,
David Thaxton, Douglas Thaxton, Kenneth L. Ellzey. Honorary
pallbearers were Jeffery Benevage, Keith Manasco, Timothy
McNeely, Eric Thaxton, Rodney Walker, and Keith Lightfoot.
