Tate, 86, of Florien, died April 19, at 9 a.m., in the Fraser Hospital of an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the Little Flock Baptist Church Thursday, April 20, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. J. P. King, and the Rev. Travis McCullough officiating. Burial was in the Little Flock Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Tate is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Tate of Florien; three sons, E. E. Tate of Many, R. L. Tate of Pinelnad, and Harmon Tate of Charlotteville, N. C.; three daughters, Mrs. Daisey Baker of Port Arthur, Mrs. Velma Messer and Mrs. Alma Knight of Shreveport; and 17 grandchildren. Mr. Tate was the oldest active member of the Florien Masonic Lodge. Pallbearers were Van Tate, Ramon Knight, Mike Baker, Don Tate, Glen Tate, and Lydon Flynn.
