Tate, 74, were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 1989, at Centuries Memorial Park, under the direction of Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. Donald D. Heacock, pastor of Church of the Holy Cross. Mr. Tate died Sunday, January 22, 1989, at 7 p.m., at LSU Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, had lived in Shreveport for 25 years, and was a resident of Noble for the last five years. Mr. Tate was an insurance salesman with Commonwealth Insurance Company. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred E. Tate of Noble; one son, Steven Anthony Tate of South Bend, Ind.; five daughters, Patricia Whorley, Laura Jane Huffman, and Bambi Cryer, all of Shreveport, Rose Marie Cimino of Soranto, Pa., and Dawn McGowen of Longview, Texas; nine grandchildren.
