J. Wilson Tatum

  Funeral services for J. Wilson Tatum, 85, of Mansfield, were
held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 12, at the Drewett Funeral Home in
Mansfield.

  Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park.

  Mr. Tatum, father of Dr. Scott L. Tatum, pastor of Broadmoor
Baptist Church, died Saturday, at his home in Mansfield, after a
sudden illness.

  He was a native of the Sardis community in Sabine Parish, and
had lived in Mansfield for the past 42 years. He was retired from
the lumber business.

  Survivors, in addition to Dr. Tatum, include another son, James
D. Tatum, also of Shreveport; four daughters, Miss Maudie Tatum
of Mansfield, Mrs. Sybil Edwards of Converse, and Mrs. Marie
Cunningham, and Mrs. Inez Webb, both of Dallas, Tex.; two
sisters, Mrs. Lucy T. Paul, and Mrs. A. C. Johnson, both of
Converse; 11 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
