Talbert Funeral services for Samuel Edgar Talbert, 60, of Pitkin, were held Friday, Feb. 19, in the Smyrna Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. C. Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Smyrna Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of DeRidder. Mr. Talbert died Thursday morning, Feb. 18, in a Many Hospital, following a brief illness. He was a member of the Pine Grove Methodist Church in Pitkin, and was a private music teacher. He served as a Capt. in the Air Force during World War II. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Hancock of Many, and Mrs. Zelma Boyd of Athens, Tex.; a brother, T. A. Talbert of Lake Charles.
