Talbert, 86, of Pitkin, died in Many, May 2, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held May 3, in the Smyrna Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jameison, and the Rev. W. H. Bengston officiating. Burial was in the Smyrna Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include two sons, S. E. Talbert of Pitkin, and C. H. Talbert of Lake Charles; two daughters, Mrs. Zelma Boyd of Cayuga, Tex., and Mrs. Thelma Hancock of Many; one brother, C. K. Talbert of DeRidder; one sister, Mrs. Ella Talbert of Pitkin; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. The grandsons served as pallbearers.
