All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Mrs. Thelma Gray Talton 24 Sep 1943 - Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Gray Talton, age 47 years, who died Tuesday, Sept. 14, at a Shreveport sanitarium, five days after a major operation, were held Wednesday, Sept. 15, from the Sibley Methodist church with the pastor officiating. Mrs. Talton was a member of one of the first families to settle in Zwolle. She was also a member of the first class to graduate from Zwolle high school and taught school for a number of years in this part of the state. She married Walter C. Talton of Sibley in 1920 and since that time has made her home with him there. Mrs. Talton is survived by her husband, Walter C. Talton; a daughter, Carolyn, Sibley, her mother, Mrs. J. S. Gray and a sister, Mrs. J. O. Kimbrell, Jr., both of Zwolle; three brothers, Chaplain Clell C. Gray of Norfolk, Va., Charles Merk Gray of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Samuel Bruce Gray, Mansfield. Interment was in the Sibley cemetery under the direction of Dennis funeral home.
