The Sabine Index - Joe Dowdy Taylor

  10 Jun 1949 - Joe Dowdy Taylor, 91, passed away at the home
of his daughter, Mrs. Nettie Williams at Carthage, Texas
Wednesday of last week, followed by the demise of his wife, 86,
on Saturday at Curtis clinic, Mansfield.

  Funeral services were held for Mr. Taylor at 10 a.m. Thursday
by Rev. King.

  Pallbearers were: Thomas McCullor, Travis Litton, Wilborn
McDonald, James McDonald, Zollie Hazes and John Ott.

  Rev. Peacock conducted last rites for Mrs. Taylor at
3 p.m., Sunday, also at Oak Grove.

  Pallbearers were James Litton, Travis Litton, Welborn
McDonald, James McDonald, Zollie Hayes and John Ott.

  Both funerals were directed by Massingill funeral
home.

  Surviving relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor include: sons,
Jim Taylor, Logansport, Grover Taylor, Mitchell, Paul Taylor,
Mansfield; daughters, Mrs. Nettie Williams, Carthage, Texas, Mrs.
Ellen Ott, Mansfield, Mrs. Josie Rippey, Logansport; 31
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
