  Rowe Thompson

  Rowe Thompson, 73, of Jena, died last Thursday afternoon, Sept.
6, at 4 p.m. in the Houston Methodist Hospital after a short
illness.

  Mr. Thompson is survived by his widow; one daughter, Bobby Wynn
of Monroe; two sons, Lt. Col. Ray Thompson of Washington, D. C.
and Neal Thompson of Many; four sisters and 7 grandchildren.

  The funeral was held in the Jena Midway Baptist Church, where
Mr. Thompson had served as deacon. The Rev. G. R. Noland
officiated, and Rev. Perry Lassiter assisted. Burial was at the
Weldon Cemetery in Bernice, La.
