Tompkins Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., in the McGuire Funeral Home chapel in Vivian, for Roger Cue Tompkins, 69, of Vivian, who died Sunday, in Schumpert Medical Center, following a brief illness. Mr. Tompkins was retired after 23 years of service with Amoco Oil Company. He was a native of Zavalla, Texas, but had resided in Vivian for the past 52 years. He was a member of the Pine Island Baptist Church, and was a veteran of World War II. Services were conducted by the Rev. Charles Addie, pastor of the Pine Island Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. George Coward, pastor of the Caddo Prairie Baptist Church. Burial was in Chapelwood Cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Cue Dell Tompkins of Vivian, and E. Ray Tompkins of Plain Dealing; two sisters, Edna Okerson of Zwolle, and Annie Keen of Houston, Texas; one brother, Lane Tompkins of Vivian; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Rochelle, Jim Terry, Verban Hutchinson, C. W. Shiveley, Jesse Hemperly, and Kenneth McVey.
