Burel M. (Blackie) Thompson

  Services for Burel M. (Blackie) Thompson, 78, of Mansfield, were
held at 2:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 7, at Drewett Memorial
Chapel in Mansfield, with the Rev. Gary Orr officiating. Burial
was in the Sloan Cemetery near Mansfield.

  He died on Sunday, April 5, at the DeSoto General Hospital in
Mansfield.

  Survivors include his widow, Grace E. Thompson, Mansfield; three
sons, John P. Thompson of Baytown, Texas, James E. Thompson of
Rodessa, and Jackie W. Thompson of Florien; 14 grandchildren; and
11 great grandchildren.
