(Satch) Thompson, 82, were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 16, at McQuire Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Lenard Galington, Baptist minister from W. Monroe, assisted by Rev. J. W. Crowe. Burial was in the Vivian Cemetery. Mr. Thompson died Tuesday, April 14, at Bossier Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was born October 14, 1909, in Mena, Ark., and had resided in Vivian for 12 years. Mr. Thompson was retired Superintendent of Operations for Placid Oil Co., and a Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Thompson of Vivian; one son, Gary Thompson of Florien; one daughter, Mrs. Millie Wall of Vivian; one sister, Aline Mackey of Hattiesburg, Miss.; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were John Paul Hobbs, C. W. Nicholson, David Caldwell, Jack Wilkins, Joe Caldwell, and C. W. Wall.
