Stanley Tompkins, 52, were held at 10 a.m., in the Martin and Castille Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Fred M. Fraser, pastor, United Methodist Church of Church Point, officiated. Interment and Committal Service was held Saturday, at 3 p.m., in the Many Cemetery in Many, under the direction of Martin and Castille Funeral Home of Lafayette. A native of Many, and a resident of Lafayette for seventeen years, Mr. Tompkins was a graduate of Northwestern Louisiana University, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. At the time of his death, he was employed by the State of Louisiana, Department of Environmental Quality (D.E.Q.), as a health physicist. Mr. Tompkins had been formerly employed by Schlumberger Well Services in Morgan City, and in Midland, Texas, and also was division manager for Gearhart Owens. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Survivors are his three daughters, Kimberly Tompkins, Amy Tompkins, and Catherine Tompkins, all of Lafayette; his former wife, Sandra Tompkins of Lafayette; his companion, Kenneth Seale of Lafayette; his father, Horace Tompkins of Many; and three brothers, Victor Tompkins of Baton Rouge, Norman Terry Tompkins, M.D. of Dallas, and Ronald Tompkins, M.D. of Boston, Mass. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby McFerrin Tompkins of Pleasant Hill.
