Thompson, 83, of Vivian, died Monday, Feb. 2, 1998, at the Guest House in Shreveport, after a brief illness. Mrs. Thompson was born in Selma, and was a resident of Vivian for 20 years. She was a housewife and member of the First Baptist Church of Vivian. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4, at McGuire Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Vivian Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Beeman, associate pastor of First Baptist, officiated, and the Rev. Ray Hearron assisted. Survivors include one son, Gary Thompson and wife Claire of Florien; one daughter, Millie Wall and husband Tobe of Vivian; one brother, A. T. Ultzsch of Monroe; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, M. M. "Satch" Thompson, and infant son, Merl Mark Thompson. Pallbearers were Adam McGuirt, Mark Thompson, Ivan Harless, Mike Ultzsch, Joe Caldwell, and Charles Spikes. Special thanks to the Guest House in Shreveport. McGuire Funeral Home, Vivian, La.
