Long Hospital in Pineville. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 25, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Many Cemetery. Dr. Ed Scott officiated. Mrs. Tompkins was very talented in china painting, and she was the president of the China Painting Association in Oklahoma City, Okla. She previously resided in Oklahoma City, and Beaumont, Texas. Survivors include three sisters, Devonia Willard of Shreveport, Thelma Davenport of DeRidder, and Juanita Edwards of Many; one brother, Norman "Pete" Salter of Lafayette; a special great niece, LaJuanna Looper of Pineville; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of friends. Mrs. Tompkins was preceded in death by her husbands, John Lacour, and Horace Tompkins; five brothers; and four sisters. Pallbearers were E. L. Edwards III, Chad Reynolds, J. E. Salter, Richard Salter, Gene Christian, Dwight Looper, and Jimmy Wright. Honorary pallbearers were James R. Cole, W. E. Hayes, Edwin Teal, Hollis Bray, and Lea Darby Salter. Warren Meadows, Many, La.
