He was born Feb. 18,1933. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 15 at the Chapel of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home with military graveside services following at Thomas-Wren Cemetery. Bro. Carry Jordan officiated. Mr. Thomas was retired from the U. S. Army after 21 years of service. Then after serving 20 years in the insurance industry, he retired from AFLAC. He was also a member of the Graduate N Club of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Baton Rouge. Survivors include his widow, Mary Murphy Thomas of Baton Rouge; one son, Kevin Thomas wife, Lisa of Batavia, Ill.; two sisters, Lillian Papiano of Ormond Beach, Fla. and Mary L. Barnhard of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Ben and Chloe Thomas; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by one daughter, Leigh Ann Thomas; his parents James and Clorie Thomas; and one brother. Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Coushatta, La.
