Tynes Funeral services were held Monday, at 2 p.m., at Wellman's Funeral Home, for James W. Tynes, 77, of Shreveport, who was pronounced dead on arrival Saturday, at Willis-Knighton Hospital. He was a retired city employee, had lived in Shreveport 35 years, and was a native of Sabine Parish. Survivors include his widow; two sons, J. W. Tynes Jr. of Shreveport, and Ernest Tynes of Midland, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Whitis of Shreveport, and Mrs. Mary Frances Thrasher of Ringold; two brothers, C. D. Tynes of Odessa, Tex., and C. V. Tynes of Natchitoches; three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Dees of Ft. Jesup, Mrs. Vera Honycutt of Robeline, and Mrs. Verne Micham of Natchitoches, and 10 grandchildren. The Rev. Thomas Garrett, pastor of the Bible Baptist Church, officiated at the services. Burial was in the Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery.
