The Sabine Index - J. W. Tynes 
  
  10 Sep 1948 - Funeral rites for J. W. Tynes, age 81 years, were 
held 2 p.m. Tuesday from the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ 
of Latter Day Saints. Elder Donald K. Nelson officiated, assisted 
by Elder Van H. Washburn. Interment was in Mt. Carmel cemetery 
under the direction of Hixon, funeral home of Leesville. 
  
  Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Isabel Tynes of Hornbeck; two 
daughter, Mrs. Mertie Manasco of Many and Mrs. Susan Mae Mitchel 
of Hornbeck. 
  
  Pallbearers were E. H. Manasco, D. W. Williams, J. R. Mitchell, 
Hoy Mitchell, Cecil E. West and Lance D. Monk. 
  
  Mr. Tynes a native of Sabine passed away at the family home in 
Hornbeck Monday after a brief illnes
