George Thomas

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, in the
Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel for George H. Thomas, 79, who died
at 7:05 a.m., Sunday, October 2, 1983, in Lafayette General
Hospital.

  Burial was in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

  Mr. Thomas was a native of Zwolle, and the son of the late Henry
H. Thomas and the former Evvie Woods. He has been a resident of
Lafayette for the past 50 years.

  He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Katherine
Porter on Sept. 25.

  Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Joan) Brakefield
of Lake Forest, Ill.; and three granddaughters.

  The family requests that contributions in his memory be made to
the Thomas Memorial Fund. First United Methodist Church, P. O.
Box 2039, Lafayette, 70502.

  Delhomme Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
