Thomas, 87, of Mansfield, were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 15, at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville, La. The Rev. T. F. Eldridge officiated. Burial was at Liberty Cemetery in Linville, La. Mr. Thomas, a former resident of Union Parish, La., died Wednesday, December 12, 1984, at DeSoto General Hospital in Mansfield, after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church. He was a retired Olin Gas Employee. He is survived by five sons, Oliver B. Thomas of Spencer, La., Jimmy Thomas of Bastrop, La., Louis Thomas of Converse, La., Johnny Thomas of Converse, Willie Thomas of Shreveport, La.; four daughters, Mary Lois Womack of Mansfield, Mavis Hattaway of Stonewall, La., Viola Rogers of Converse, and Joy Lynn Gardner of Bastrop; one brother, Frank Thomas of Marion, La.; 26 grandchildren; one great grandchild.
