All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Kathy (Woods) Thomas (Photo) Funeral services for Kathy (Woods) Thomas of Calif., will be held on April 29, 1995, in Los Angeles, Calif., under the direction of Harrison Ross Mortuary, located at 1839 E. Firestone Blvd, 90001. Mrs. Thomas passed away on April 21, in Pomona, Calif., after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Thomas was born on May 22, 1948, and reared in Converse. Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Sabine High School, where she served as Miss Sabine High in 1965. After attending Grambling State College for a short term, she married Rev. Wesley J. Thomas of the Oak Grove community outside of Mansfield. Wesley and Kathy then moved to Calif., where Mrs. Thomas later became employed in the Pomona Public School System. She worked in the Special Ed. Dept. for several years. Survivors are her widower, Wesley J. Thomas; three daughters, Cosonya Vickers and husband Anthony, Deedra Thomas, and Shleshia Greer and husband Anthony; four grandsons, all of Calif.; her mother, retired teacher here in Sabine Parish, Mrs. Sybil C. Woods of Converse; three sisters, Creola Smith of Calif., Shirley McCall of North Carolina, and Debra (Woods) Jones of Converse; one brother, Frank (Douglas) Loran of Houston; four aunts; two uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
