All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Richard Marion Tannehill (Photo) Services for Mr. Richard Marion Tannehill, 73, of Many, were held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, November 26, at the First United Methodist Church of Many. Officiating were the Rev. John Koelemay, and the Rev. Larry Norman. Interment was in the Many Cemetery. Mr. Tannehill died Friday, November 24, at Schumpert Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cecile Tannehill of Many; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Patti Tannehill; three daughters and sons-in-law, Johanna and Odis Faust, Janet and Gary Coburn, and Katie and John French; one sister, Elizabeth Doughty; and ten grandchildren, Nicholas David, Sara, and Richard Marion (Max) Tannehill II, Jennifer, Nicholas Clayton, and Cody Faust, Lindy, and Richard Coburn, and Clay, and Courtney French. Mr. Tannehill received his B.S. degree in business, at La. Tech. Immediately following graduation, he was inducted into the U.S. Army, where he became a 1st Lieutenant with the Army Air Force, and served as a B-17 pilot. He was a prisoner of war in Germany. At the end of his military service, he returned to LSU, where he received a Masters degree in Forestry. He began his career as Head Forester with Louisiana Long Leaf Lumber Company in Fisher. His association with 4-L continued through the acquisition of the company by Boise Cascade. He retired as Regional Forester, after over 30 years of combined service. Pallbearers were Bob Clark, Lenin Murray, Creed Lester, Jr. Mitchell, Mike Luster, Melvin House, Doyle DeWitt, Jim Lyon, W. E. Lafitte, and Joe Luster. Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Many, or the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Development Fund at Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport.
