Tanner, Sr., passed away Tuesday, August 22, at Flannery Oaks Nursing Home. He was 88, a native of East Baton Rouge Parish, and a resident of Many. He was a retired plumber and pipefitter, and a member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 1098. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. Funeral services for Mr. Tanner were held at Hollabaugh-Spindle Wooddale Memorial Chapel at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 24, with graveside services following at 4:30 p.m., at the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Many. Rev. Sammy Davis officiated. Mr. Tanner is survived by two daughters, Hazel Davison of Greenwell Springs, and Norma S. Brister of Baton Rouge; five sons, E. E. "Eddy" Tanner Jr. of New Mexico, Joseph M. "Joe" Tanner of Sicily Island, Carl W. Tanner of Baton Rouge, Monroe E. Tanner of Denham Springs, and Randall B. "Randy" Tanner of Walker; a sister, Pearl Kinchen Miller of Baton Rouge; two half sisters, Eula Mae Beaubout, and Mary Alice McCormick of Baton Rouge; 31 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and Toledo Bend Baptist Church, Many.
