Tanner, 67, of Florien, were held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the First Baptist Church in Florien. The Rev. Mack Brister officiated. Burial was in the Florien Cemetery, under the direction of Les Fontaine Funeral Home. Mr. Tanner was a retired heavy equipment operator for the Dupont Company. Survivors are his wife, Ruth Tanner of Florien; mother, Orah Tanner of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Sahron Gallien of Austin, Tex.; one son, Joe Don Tanner Jr. of Washington State; two stepdaughters, Linda Patterson of Orange, Tex., and Beverly Thames of Houston, Tex.; one stepson, Robert Breaux of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Lawrence Tanner of Houston, Tex.; two sisters, Mary Lee Harris of Clarksville, Tenn., and Billie Rosoff of Newton Highlands, Ma. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Wildlife Refuge in Kirbyville, Tex., or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
