Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15 in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 18 at 4 p.m. in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Many. Mr. Tarpley was born April 24, 1924 in Many to James and Delma Tarpley. He had been a resident of the Kilgore, Texas area for 37 years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Kilgore, Texas, a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Sharon Shrine Temple in Tyler and Littlefield Masonic Lodge in Many. Mr. Tarpley was veteran of the U. S. Navy and served during World War II and Korea. He also retired from Brooks Well Services in 1990. Survivors include one daughter, Christina Dorsett of Kilgore, Texas; three sons, Rogar Lee Tarpley of Waxahachie, Steven Jay Tarpley of Kilgore, and Jerry Robert Tarpley of Gladewater; four brothers, Clyde Tarpley of Winnfield, Bobby Tarpley, of Many, Wayne Tarpley of Zwolle and Floyd Tarpley of Many; four sisters, Dorothy Landrum of Orange, Texas, Willa Mae Leone of Keithville, Margreet Lovelady of Zwolle and Rose Leroy of Longview, Texas; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
