She is survived by her husband, James R. Tarpley of Many; five sons, Clyde Tarpley, Winnfield, Howard Tarpley of Kilgore, Tex., Wayne Tarpley of Mitchell, and Bobby, and Floyd of Many; four daughters, Willie Mae Leone of Keithville, Dorothy Landrum of Orange, Tex., Rose Lynn Lovelady of Longview, Tex., and Margarete Lovelady of Zwolle; one brother, Percy Alford of Florien; four sisters, Velma Ammons, Nettie Maxey, Nell Maxey, and Bertha Hippler, all of Many; 33 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m., in the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, with the Rev. Hoy Leach, and the Rev. Bobby Moore officiating. Burial was in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Gary Ware, Keith Lovitt, Ray Sadler, Buddy Tarpley, Roger Tarpley, George Tucker, Percy Marshall, and Danny Campbell.
