The Rev. James Sample officiated. Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens of Lake Charles. Mrs. Turpin died at 2:45 a.m. December 15 in a local hospital. She was a native of Florien and had lived in Lake Charles for 41 years. She was a retired teacher in the Calcasieu Parish system and was also a member of Women's Aglow and Abundant Life Fellowship Church. Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Doris Schuette and Mrs. Jan Jamison; one son, Ross Turpin all of Sulphur; one sister, Mrs. Bonnie Blackett of Shreveport; two brothers, Jack Salter of Florien and Pete Salter of Sulphur; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
