Luther V. Tarver

  Luther Van Buren Tarver, 88, died Tuesday night, Oct. 24, at his
residence, after a short illness.

  The funeral was at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, in Blanchard-St. Denis
Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. J. P. King, and the Rev.
Grover Smith officiating. Masonic graveside services were held in
Fern Park Cemetery.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucy Tarver of Natchitoches;
one son, James L. Tarver of Waco, Texas; one daughter, Olive
Mills of North Hollywood, Calif.; two step daughters, Christine
Driggers of Durango, Colo., and Estelle Williams of Redding,
Calif.; one sister, Lizzie Jackson of Simpson; one brother, Alva
Tarver of Many; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four
great grandchildren, and two step great grandchildren.
