All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Thelma Meyer Tarver Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Meyer Tarver, 87, of Many, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 31, 1997, at the First United Methodist Church in Many. The Rev. Hugh Warren officiated. Burial was in the Fort Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches. Mrs. Tarver died at 7:49 p.m., March 28, at Natchitoches Parish Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Tarver was a resident of Many, and was a native of Woodward Co., Oklahoma. She was born June 4, 1909 in Prairie Gem Community near Woodward. She attended Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha, Oklahoma, and married John Tarver of Kisatchie. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Many. She is survived by one son, Michael T. Tarver of Many; one daughter, Jo Ann (Jody) Tarver Dew of Natchitoches; one brother, Marlin M. Meyer of Laughlin, Nevada; three grandchildren, Christy L. Dew of Shreveport, Kelly Dew Longlois of Natchitoches, and Lance R. Dew of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Tarver is preceded in death by her husband, John Tarver, who was a businessman, and former mayor of Many; and a baby son, John Weldon Tarver.
