Trotter, 66, of Vivian, were held at 2 p.m., in McGuire Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian, with the Rev. Merlin Liverman, pastor of First Baptist Church of Vivian, officiating. Burial was in Vivian Cemetery. Mr. Trotter died Saturday, May 14, in North Caddo Memorial Hospital. A native of Pleasant Hill, he lived in Vivian 30 years. He retired from Texaco Oil Co., after 27 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, and Monterrey Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Melba Trotter of Vivian; three sons, J. M. Trotter Jr. of Jeanerette, John Trotter of Hammond, and Bill Trotter of Lafayette; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Adams of Pleasant Hill; one brother, E. S. Trotter of Vivian, and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were his nephews.
