Mr. Turnage was a retired lumberman, and was formerly of Jasper, Tex. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., at the Blackwell Golden Funeral Home Chapel in Bastrop, with the Rev. W. E. Nolan officiating. Burial was in Morehouse Memorial Cemetery. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Alyne Turnage, Bastrop; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Jo Carter, Dallas, Tex.; four brothers, Marvin Turnage, Little Rock, Ark., Pell Turnage, Dermott, Ark., Daphne Turnage, Crossett, Ark., and Brooksey Turnage, Bastrop; five sisters, Mrs. Lola Hitch, Tulsa, Okla., Mrs. Mabel Martin, Schwind, San Antonio, Tex., Mrs. Opal McAfee, Middleton, Ohio, and Mrs. Merle Smith, Goldsboro, N.? For many years, Mr. Turnage lived in Zwolle, where he was associated with the Mansfield Hardwood and Lumber Co. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Pallbearers were E. C. Wiltshire, Wilber Martindale, Clyde Clark, G. W. Glover, all of Jasper, Tex., Howard Copeland of Dermott, Ark., Claude Reed of Huttig, Ark., Barney Bawcom, and Leslie Bates of Bastrop.
