Mrs. Iona Oakes Turner

  Funeral services for Mrs. Iona Oakes Turner, were held Tuesday,
June 10, at 10 a.m., at the Silver Creek Baptist Church,
Leesville. Officiating were the Reverends Mac Brister, Sammy
Morrow, and Leroy James. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

  Mrs. Turner, 88, a lifelong resident of Leesville, died at 7:30
p.m., Saturday, June 7, 1986, at Byrd Memorial Hospital in
Leesville.

  She is survived by three sons, William Reginald Turner, Florien,
Charles Wilmer Turner, and Alfred Zane Turner, both of Leesville;
one brother, John E. Oakes, Leesville; two sisters, Mrs. Ina
Hyde, Leesville, and Mrs. Helen Matthews, Little Rock, Ark.; 14
grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
