Marvin Underwood

  Marvin Underwood, 75, of Florien, died on Wednesday, May 22, in
Shreveport, following a long illness.

  Survivors include his widow; two sons, Milton V. Underwood of
Ft. Worth, and Lynn B. Underwood of Minden; four daughters, Mrs.
Marvilene Merritt of Shreveport, Mrs. Louise Brooks of Angelton,
Tex., Mrs. Bonnie Salter of Shreveport, and Mrs. Virgie Karr of
Gretna; three brothers, Eugene Underwood of Mansfield, T. W.
Underwood of Florien, and Curley Underwood of Leesville; one
sister, Mrs. Estella Underwood of Mansfield; and 22
grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 24, at the
Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Elder Herman J. Blackman officiating.

  Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of
the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
